I bought a LT in vegas and brought it back to Canada. There was a extended warranty on the bike which could not be transferred to a canadian resident. I had made several attempts to cancel the policy and get a refund. The dealership had changed hands since the purchase and I decided to give it one more try.

So the dealership had nothing to gain they had not sold me the original policy or did they even deal with the company that had issued the policy anymore. With that said the owner wrote a letter and promised to do what he could to secure me the refund. In less than two weeks I had a refund check sent to me. Now thats customer service at its best

Thanks again for the private messages and comments... I am considering ALL options right now and have no IMMEDIATE plans of making a purchase. Unfortunatley, my wife recently had a long chat with one of her friends that works in the ER.... Well, her friend was gracious enough to shed light on all the motorcycle accident victims she has seen and treated coming in and out of the ER... This has NOT helped my motorcycling career... My wife, who previously thought it would be an exciting hobby for me, has turned to the dark side and now has the "no way in hell you are getting a bike" attitude... Two months ago she was FINE with the idea and excited about my new interest. Anyway, that is an enitrely different personal battle I am fighting (and will win ).....
For now I am using the money I have to buy some safety gear and plan to rent a bike this weekend for some back road riding with a few friends of mine and get a feel for motorcycles on the open road. I am really looking forward to it.... I have even contemplated the idea of buying a "beater bike" and the K1200GT around the same time and ONLY ride the GT in my neighborhood and parking lots until I have overall comfort on the beater bike out in the open road. Friend of mine has a 600CC older bike he is willing to part with for about 1000 bucks, which I might be interested in... We will see, and I will keep my progress updated here. Not buying ANYTHING until wife comes around or I find a new one that is more understanding... (wife that is)

Yeah baby - street legal. The guys at DOT had an absolute fit when I pulled in with it on my trailer - demanding a homebuilt VIN, new title and registration...

The first thing they said was that pocketbikes are illegal in AZ. I took great offense and retorted that it was NOT a "pocketbike", simply a VERY small motorcycle.

They gave up when I pointed out that it had DOT Michelin Tires and every other item needed to ride on the street - except common sense! :clapping:

It only does 55mph.

(the hard part was converting it from 6 volt to 12 volt with electric start, horn, turn signals, etc. Hiding the wiring was a challenge.... It started out life as a 1969 50cc Honda mini-trail. Now its a whopping 110cc.)
